Why Overhead Conveyor Trolley Wheels Need Regular Checks

Overhead conveyor trolley wheels carry the load every day, so their condition affects chain movement, noise, and station accuracy. A worn wheel may still move, but it can make the carrier shake or pull unevenly through curves. In a power and free line, poor trolley movement can also affect stopping and release at stations.

A simple check can prevent bigger repair work. Workers should listen for new noise, look for uneven wear, and clean dust or hard particles near the track. When a wheel is badly worn, replacing it early is usually easier than waiting until it damages the track or carrier. This small habit is especially useful on lines that run every shift, because a stopped trolley can slow the whole route. During maintenance, the worker should also check whether the wheel turns freely and whether the bearing area has dust, paint, or metal chips inside.
